Al-Nassr made sure that they did not make any mistakes in the title race.
Al-Nassr fell three points behind Saudi Professional League leaders Al-Hilal as they cruised to a 3-0 win at Al Kholood.
The visitors were frustrated by a stubborn Al Kholood side in the first half, but secured a comfortable victory with three goals in the second half.
Cristiano Ronaldo opened the scoring with a goal just two minutes into the second half, before Mohamed Simakan doubled Al-Nassr’s lead with a superb header.
Things got worse for Al Kholood when captain Hattan Bahebri was sent off for pushing Simakan off the ball.
That ended the game as a contest, but Kingsley Coman added shine to the scoreline late on with a confident penalty. Al-Nassr ahead of Al-Ahli Saudi second place in the ranking on goal difference.
Sadio Mané looked to give Al-Nassr the lead late in the first half, but his goal was ruled out for offside against the impressive Joao Felix, with the Portuguese straying offside as he latched onto Coman’s pass down the right channel.
Félix then hit the crossbar early in the second half, before slotting home to compatriot Ronaldo to break the deadlock.
Sadio Mané and Angelo Gabriel linked up perfectly on the edge of the box following good work from Félix, who continued his run to the left to receive the ball from Angelo and open up for Ronaldo to latch onto.
Simakan doubled the lead six minutes later, meeting Felix’s near-post corner with an unstoppable header.
Félix then forced Juan Pablo Cozzani to topple the crossbar with a daring rabona finish that almost produced a stunning goal.
Bahebri’s loss of composure made it even more difficult for the hosts in the 72nd minute, and a quarter of an hour later, Coman completed the victory by converting after a foul from Ramzi Solan just inside the area.
